Family: THINOCORIDAE (Sundevall 1835)

Genera: Two genera recognised; Attagis and Thinocorus.

Attagis – Greek; attagis (attagis or attagen frankolin) (Saint-Hilaire, I. and Lesson 1831).
Thinocorus – Greek: this, thinos sand, beach desert; Modern Latin: corys lark (korudos lark) (Eschscholtz 1829).

Distribution

  • South America: Rufous-bellied, White-bellied, Grey-breasted and Least Seedsnipe.
