Conservation Status: Least Concern

Subspecies: Four

• A. a. alexandrinus: western Europe; Atlantic Islands; and northern Africa to northern China
• A. a. dealbatus: south-eastern China (following Rheindt et al. 2011)
• A. a. nihonensis: south-eastern Russia; north-eastern and eastern China; Korea; Japan; and Taiwan (following Kennerley et al. 2008)
• A. a. seebohmi: southern India; Sri Lanka
