Global Flyway Report from Bohai Bay 2026

Wader Quest has two aims; to raise awareness and to raise funds. The second of these is crucial for us to be able to make a positive contribution to wader conservation.

Our ability to make grants to conservation projects centres almost entirely around our supporters and donors, without whom we would have no money to finance these grants. Support comes in three ways.

  • Subscription to the charity’s Friends of Wader Quest scheme or as a Corporate Sponsor.
  • Direct straightforward one-off donations.
  • Purchase of Wader Quest merchandising through our website shop or at events attended by Wader Quest volunteers manning a stand.

100% of all subscriptions and donations is ring-fenced and kept in a reserve account and used exclusively for grant payments to conservation projects. In the case of the merchandising we currently hold back 25% of the sale price and direct that in the same way. This is only made possible because Wader Quest does not have any paid staff.

We are therefore very pleased to receive reports about how the money, or equipment supplied, has been used by grantees.

This latest report from the Global Flyways Network on research into the northward migration of waders in Bohai Bay, China, which we part funded, allows us to show you, our supporters and donors, how your money has been used to great effect.
